WELCOME!

Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about Oasis of Hope!  We believe that in this day and age God is seeking people who desire to worship Him in spirit and truth; who believe in the power of intercession; crying out to Him for the nations, and who are committed to the study of His word; believing in the power that lives within.

The Gospel

The word gospel means “good news.” And of course if there is good news then we can assume something is bad or wrong that has now been made good or right. The entire Bible is the revelation of God’s good news. We were made to be in relationship with God, but are separated from God by our sin. The result of sin is death and all it brings… fear, anxiety, emptiness, guilt and dread.

GOD'S GREATER STORY

In love, God sent His only Son, who was without sin, to pay the penalty for our sin. He died in the sinners place on the cross, was buried, and rose three days later. When a person turns from pursuing life apart from God, and turns to God believing that Jesus died in their place, and rose again, their sins are forgiven, they are clothed in Christ’s righteousness, restored to relationship with God both now and forevermore. The gospel is the good news about what Jesus Christ has done to reconcile sinners to God.

GOD

The one and only God, who is holy, made us in His image to know Him. (Genesis 1:26-28)

MAN

But we sinned and cut ourselves off from Him. (Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 3:23)

CHRIST

In His great love, God sent His Son Jesus to come as King and rescue His people from their enemies—most significantly their own sin. Jesus established His kingdom by acting as both a mediating priest and a priestly sacrifice—He lived a perfect life and died on the cross, thus fulfilling the law Himself and taking on Himself the punishment for the sins of many; then He rose again from the dead, showing that God accepted His sacrifice and that God’s wrath against us had been exhausted. (Psalms 2:1-12; Luke 1:67-79; Mark 10:45; John 1:14; Hebrews 7:26; Romans 3:21-26, 5:12-21; Acts 2:24, Romans 4:25)

RESPONSE

He now calls us to repent of our sins and trust in Christ alone for our forgiveness. If we repent of our sins and trust in Christ, we are born again into a new life, an eternal life with God. (Acts 17:30; John 1:12; John 3:16)
